Press Room

This image from the South Wales Argus is from my time at The Workshop Gallery, where renowned Ceramicist Ned Heywood regularly created Pudsy pots for Children in Need.

I soon rented a studio at the Gallery and began creating my own work. A show for new potters was held at The Workshop Gallery and featured in the South Wales Argus.

We had some great times creating Pudsy Pots and raised lots of money.

We were featured in all the local press and even had a brief appearance on television.

I continued to set up exhibitions at the gallery and met some fantastic artists and makers.

Ned was very keen to promote new talents.

I sold work at the gallery and began to exhibit and sell at exhibitions and craft events across the UK.

We were in the papers frequently.

The South Wales Argus did a follow up piece on me when I went back to college to study for my degree.

This is my page from the exhibition catalogue for our final show at Howard Gardens, Cardiff. This painting was purchased by Eversheds Solicitors in Cardiff and I've been told that it still hangs there.

During my time teaching for Adult Community Learning I continued to put on exhibitions. I organised this show for Art teachers within the service to show their own work.

I also worked teaching Crafts to parents at The Surestart Centre in Alway, Newport. Together the parents created this large button mosaic to hang in the building.

The mosaic was very popular and everyone wanted to get involved. I collected and sorted hundreds of buttons for the piece and honestly thought I never wanted to set my eyes on a button ever again.

One of my courses for Adult Community Learning was called Treasure from Trash. It was very popular and ran for many years.

Art School Wales has been very successful and we have held regular large exhibitions at Newport cathedral for many years. With over 350 exhibits the event is very popular.

After around 15 years I was ready to look a button in the eye once more. A second mosaic was created to commemorate 10 years of the Share Centre.

A second follow up was produced by the South Wales Argus featuring my adventures in Art and my other passion of Middle Eastern Dance.
